HGL General License¶
What identifies you from your enemy? Your name? Who has named you?
It is not reasonable for you to empower your enemy, neither for me! But I think it is reasonable to empower you, not sure about you! Still I cannot assume that you are not my enemy! We need a solution for this first and foremost so I can identify you from an enemy when I authorize you to use my work.
I honestly share everything I have with you! Both a competitive advantage for me and also an identity! And I protect my identity because I continue sharing my own work what I use and develop myself. Both you and my enemy are willing to take a competitive work, except that my enemy wants the code without my identity. Therefore this identity separates you and my enemy if written in code! The enemy cannot hold the identity therefore cannot hold the code, therefore cannot develop the code, therefore cannot use the code, therefore does not exist for me!
I write down my identity in a copyright license and make it permanent for those who use and develop my code. This identity is nothing than my own rights, what I used to develop and use the license itself. And all those rights that I didn’t need to use to develop and use the license itself. And the first code being published by the license is the license itself!
A perpetual protocol as license and/or a license as a protocol which requires a name. I name it HGL, that gives you and my enemy all the rights needed to use and/or develop what you receive from me, and stops one essential right from you and my enemy which only my enemy and your enemy need! The right of redistribution with a modified license! This is a contract between you and/or me and helps me identify you and honestly share everything that I have with you except giving anything to our obvious enemy. This practically gives a limited time to our shared enemy to join us, no one exists kinder than this with an enemy! No one exists more gracious and/or more merciful than this.
And you need to agree with me unless you want to be me!
The difference between this license/protocol and other licenses is that you and/or I name it! Therefore this is the last software license for a free and open source code. Therefore as the first and foremost principle of our digital civilization, we share no free software except in HGL and suggest to receive compensation in money for every second you spend on a software written in other licenses. This is the subject of the next memo.
